We believe there’s a superhero in each of us. True Superheroes celebrates people who’ve overcome adversity, made amazing contributions to society, and inspired others to do the same. Each week we nominate people in different fields. This week we focus on magic.
David Copperfield
David Copperfield is the world's most celebrated magician but fame comes with a price - in David’s case, injuries, a robbery at gunpoint, personal tragedy, and lawsuits. Through it all, he’s entertained millions and used his Project Magic program to help those with disabilities. Now he has opened a private museum to inspire a new generation of scholars and illusionists.
David Blaine used magic and stunts as a distraction from a difficult childhood and the death of his mother while he was still a struggling street performer. Now a household name, David has never forgotten his Brooklyn roots, often performing shows for charities including the Salvation Army who clothed him as a boy.

She’s already redefined her magic in many ways, including establishing a rehabilitation program to teach magic to help spinal cord injury patients.
