It’s hard to think of any sportsman of modern times who has sacrificed more for his beliefs than Colin Kaepernick, whose protests over police brutality turned him from star quarterback to pariah overnight. Although still an outcast in the NFL, he remains a talismanic figure whose sacrifices have inspired countless others to follow in his footsteps and refuse to be silenced.
She’s been overcoming incredible odds for her entire life; first as a child bouncing around the foster care system, and then as a teenaged cancer patient. Now she’s best known as the first woman to win a full college football scholarship in a non-specialist role, as a free safety tackling opponents who are much larger than she is, while blazing a trail for the next generation of women in football.
