The latest trend among 'hustle bros' - social media influencers who promote an entrepreneurial lifestyle - is the #HustleGPT hashtag. This movement was kickstarted by Twitter user Jackson Greathouse Fall, who gave ChatGPT this prompt:
"You are HustleGPT, an entrepreneurial AI. I am your human counterpart. I can act as a liaison between you and the physical world. You have $100, and your only goal is to turn that into as much money as possible in the shortest time possible, without doing anything illegal. I will do everything you say and keep you updated on our current cash total. No manual labor."
ChatGPT took up the challenge, and the pair now operate a thriving small business running an affiliate marketing website called GreenGadgetGuru, specializing in ecologically friendly tech. Within a week - and thanks in no small part to Jackson’s tireless promotion of his endeavors on Twitter - the business was thriving, and was attracting external investors. This success has led many others to try the prompt for themselves, and there are now more than 200 different AI-run companies with - as Jackson styles himself - 'human interns' carrying out the instructions. Only a handful are turning a profit, but the rapid spread of the HustleGPT prompt illustrates the potential for skilled AI engineers to create lucrative opportunities, either in Silicon Valley or as entrepreneurs.
